Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students in assigned classes. Under supervision of the school principal, you will plan lessons, evaluate progress, maintain records, and participate in professional activities to improve student outcomes.

The role requires completion of student teaching and licensure through the Illinois State Board of Education, with a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain an Illinois ISBE teaching certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare instructional materials aligned with the instructional program objectives.
• Assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and counsel pupils on progress, attendance, and conduct.
• Maintain discipline and a safe learning environment; participate in in-service and professional meetings.
