Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and aligns with school, district and state guidelines.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide regular reports as required.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and maintaining classroom order and fair discipline.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and evaluate their job performance.
• Pursue ongoing professional competence and participate in district vision development.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as required.
