Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking an Elementary School Classroom Teacher for grades 3/4 to join Lakewood Elementary. This full-time role reports to the Principal and is located at Lakewood Elementary within the district’s salary schedule.

The teacher will deliver district-approved curriculum, plan lessons for individualized and small group instruction, and maintain communication with parents through newsletters, calls, and conferences. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate.
• Possess work experience with early elementary children.

Responsibilities

• Teach district approved curriculum.
• Develop lessons and instructional material to provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt to the curriculum needs of each pupil.
• Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Evaluate academic and social growth of students, keep appropriate records and prepare progress report.
• Other duties as assigned.
