Job summary

Greenway Park Elementary is seeking a qualified elementary school teacher (K-6, 1st grade) to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The teacher will implement lesson plans, monitor student progress, and ensure alignment with district standards under the principal's direction.

The ideal candidate holds a valid NC teaching certification or eligibility, possesses strong classroom management and communication skills, and commits to a 10-month calendar aligned with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain accurate records for IEPs and 504 plans.
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and resolve challenges.
• Attend PLCs and professional development.
• Perform safety functions/drills to maintain a safe instructional environment.
