Job summary

MISSOURI VALLEY FAMILY YMCA in BISMARCK, ND is seeking a Junior Chefs Instructor to co-teach a basic culinary arts class for kids aged 6–14, covering nutrition, kitchen safety and cooking at our off-site site at 1701 East Century Avenue.

Evening classes run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 pm–7:30 pm, October through April. Candidates must be 16+, value YMCA principles, and prefer childcare or food-service experience.

Qualifications

• YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Must be age 16 or older.
• Previous childcare or children's program experience preferred.
• Previous food service or food prep experience preferred.
• Ability to handle competing demands and communicate with participants and parents.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model for participants and parents.
• Guide participants through pre-planned activities.
• Communicate effectively with participants and parents.
• Ensure safe participation in food prep, cooking, baking and educational activities.
• Assist with set up and clean up before and after sessions.
