Job summary

Pinnacle High School in Paradise Valley USD 69 seeks a Social Studies Teacher for immediate start. The position is a 1.0 FTE interim role through 5/27/2027, reporting to the Site Administrator.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and collaborating with staff to improve outcomes. Arizona teaching certification and SEI endorsements are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate required.
• Appropriately Certified in Core Content Area.
• SEI Endorsement required.
• Criminal Background Clearance required.
• Ability to communicate with parents and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Administers subject specific assessments and tests for the purpose of assessing student competencies.
• Advises parents on student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations.
• Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and community resources for the purpose of improving student outcomes.
• Counsels students or refers to appropriate staff for the purpose of improving performance or well-being.
• Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners within established lesson plans.
• Differentiates classroom work to address individualized learning needs.
• Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers.
• Instructs students to improve academic success within a defined course of study.
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
• Monitors students in various environments for safety.
• Participates in meetings and PLCs for data review and improvement.
• Prepares written materials documenting progress and mandating compliance.
• Reports health and safety issues to administrators for safety.

Education

Bachelor's degree in education or related field

Arizona Teaching Certificate
