Job summary

YMCA Silver Spring is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead diverse classes at our Silver Spring location. The role involves delivering safe, motivating workouts across Yoga, Zumba, Barre, Cycle, Pilates and more, while keeping class records and ensuring participant safety.

You will need a high school diploma or GED, be 18+, and hold CPR/AED plus a recognized group exercise certification or relevant specialty certifications. Training in safety procedures is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to conduct safe, effective and motivating Group exercise class.
• Nationally recognized group exercise certification and/or other specialty certifications like Yoga Alliance, CrossFit, Zumba, Pilates/Pilates Reformer, Martial Arts, Spin/Indoor Cycle, Les Mills, Barre.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates skills and explains them clearly to class members
• Responsible for the safety of all participants during class time
• Keeps class attendance and records
