Job Summary

The primary function of this role is to gauge set outs from lehr to ensure glass meets customer specifications, inspect packed ware for quality and adherence to AQL standards, and manage pallets that do not meet criteria. The inspector is responsible for all quality aspects related to their service line.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Review product specifications and related materials to understand job responsibilities.
  • Gague shop items every two hours, report defective glass, and discard non-conforming items.
  • Inspect finished goods hourly for quality compliance, with a minimum of 48 samples checked per hour.
  • Complete Packed Ware Reports based on inspections.
  • Authorize pallets for reselect if they do not meet quality standards.
  • Inspect case sealing and makeup for suitability.
  • Check coatings and perform thermal shock and comparator tests as specified.
  • Perform pressure tests and ensure work area safety and cleanliness.
  • Follow all safety, manufacturing, and job-specific procedures.
Shift Details

Work involves rotating shifts: 7 days of 8am-4pm, 3 days off, 7 days of 12mid-8am, 2 days off, 7 days of 4pm-12mid, 2 days off, repeating in a 28-day cycle.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Quality Inspector is required.
