Job summary

Intertek Caleb Brett seeks a Petroleum Inspector with 1-3 years experience for on-site inspections at our Deer Park facility. The role covers volume and temperature measurements, sampling, and custody transfer surveys, with travel to client locations as needed.

Various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays are possible. Applicants should have 1-3 years in petroleum inspections, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have basic grasp of mathematics and work in automated environments.
• Ability to work on an on-call basis.

Responsibilities

• Volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials in lines and tanks.
• Visual inspections on lines, tanks, rail cars and ships.
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to/from rail cars and barges.
• Perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.

What are we looking for?

The Petroleum Inspector is responsible forVolume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks and barges and ships. This position will involve traveling to client locations for onsite inspections.

What you’ll do:

• Volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks and barges and ships.
• Visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges and ships.
• To perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks.
• To maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized and functional condition.
• Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
• Able to perform by specified methodology the below duties in addition to completing the associated paperwork.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• 1-3 years' experience in petroleum inspections is required
• A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
• Must have basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment.
• Abilityto work on an on-call basis
• Cannot have a fear of heights
• Model Intertek’s 10X Energies at all times within the workplace, practicing business the right way.
• Physical requirements to include Lifting (25-35 pounds), walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting and driving.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
• Be able to gauge and sample shore tanks and barges.
• Be able to calculate shore tanks and barges and know how to interpolate on strapping tables.
• Set shore stop.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• High school diploma, or equivalent preferred
• Industry Certifications are a PLUS
• May be some travel, on a volunteer basis
