Job summary

AmSafe Aviation is seeking a mid-level quality inspector to join our manufacturing team. You will inspect finished goods against blueprints, write IRRs and rejections, and ensure conformance with engineering specifications.

The role requires familiarity with PLM, Net Inspect, and multiple inspection tools on a fast-paced floor. Ideal candidates have at least one year of experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with English and Spanish as needed.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a quality inspector.
  • Able to write IRRs and rejections to the line.
  • Familiar with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, tap measures).
  • Able to inspect parts to engineering specifications and blue prints.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of First Articles and Net-Inspect.
  • Able to write IRRs and rejections to the line.
  • Be familiar with all AmSafe product lines.
  • Inspect parts to engineering specifications and blue print drawings.
  • Navigate PLM, NET Inspect and Backlog.
  • Must be familiar with various inspections tools (tapemeasure, calipers, micrometer).
  • Follow and assist in enforcing all company policies and procedures.
  • Active participation in sustaining 5S for a safe, organized work center.

General

A mid-levelInspector positionunder the direction of theQuality Managerhired and trained toinspectfinished goods per AMSAFEblue prints, work instructionsand procedures. They should be a high energy, self-motivated, personable individual who can work well withanyone on the production floor.They should have an exceptional work ethic, and a high attention to detail.Must have anunderstanding of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tap measures.

Essential Functions
  • Strong understanding of First Articles and Net-Inspect
  • Able to write IRR’s and rejections to the line.
  • Be very familiar with all AmSafe product lines
  • Must package properly to customer requests.
  • Able to inspect parts to engineering specifications and blue print drawings.
  • Able to navigate PLM, NET Inspectand Backlog.
  • Must be familiar with various inspections tools. (tapemeasure, calipers, micrometer)
  • Required to follow all company polices.
  • Other responsibilities can be assigned as needed.
  • Follow and assist in enforcing allcompany policies and procedures with minimal assistance.
  • Actively participate in sustaining 5S activities to maintain a safe and organized work center.
  • Minimum of one yearexperienceas a quality inspector.
  • Good analytical mindset.
  • Moderate computer skills and understanding.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred
  • Must also be able to add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Must be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Continuous light physical effort and manual dexterity.
  • Working with and moving materials, not to exceed 40lbs.
  • Must be able to use and understand measuring devices such as Go / No-Go Gauges, measuring tapes, proprietary diagnostic tools, and multimeters.
  • Be able to identify assemblies and components listed on the pick lists and blueprints.

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.Work hours are Monday through Friday and shift start times are determined by your department manager.Overtime will be required as needed.
