Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Inspector II for SHA District 6 in Maryland to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction for structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans and codes. The role involves field duties and routine material tests.

Qualifications include 1–4 years of construction inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. JMT offers 100% ESOP and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
• Makes field notes and computations.

JMT's Construction Management Team is looking for an Inspector II to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities, in SHA District 6, during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Pay range is $23-$35/hour. Salary range is based upon background, education, level of experience and project assignment.

Required Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Client Requested certifications

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
