Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Inspector II to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction in SHA District 6, focusing on structural quality and safety in conformance with plans and codes.

The role requires 1–4 years of construction inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and an active driver's license. Field work involves outdoor conditions and lifting up to 25 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods for compliance with plans, codes and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures and grades.
• Gather and maintain record documents; take field notes and computations.

JMT's Construction Management Team is looking for an Inspector II to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities, in SHA District 6, during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Pay range is $23-$35/hour. Salary range is based upon background, education, level of experience and project assignment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents
• Makes field notes and computations

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
• 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience
• Active driver’s license

Preferred Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Client Requested certifications

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
