Job summary

Stellar Technology is seeking an Inspector I in Amherst, NY for full-time work in our manufacturing quality team. The role includes inspection of finished parts, in-process checks, and documentation review to ensure conformance and proper product control.

The candidate should have at least 2 years in quality control, understand drawings/blueprints, and be proficient with Windows and Excel. Overtime may be required; we value safety and continuous improvement participation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years prior experience in Quality Control, receiving inspection.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical measuring.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed.
  • Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing work instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection of finished machined and assembled parts and all mechanical measurements.
  • Performs in-process measurements to ensure parts are manufactured per specifications.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure quality conformance and the proper movement and control of product as well as all quality related inspection requirements.
  • Participates in Quality investigations.
  • Works safely and actively participates in all plant safety directives while adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Participates in team activities including LEAN projects and activities and other continuous improvement activities.
  • Performs inspection of documents to ensure all incoming parts meet requirements.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Salary Range: $21.00 To $24.00 Hourly

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing inspections, visual checks, documentation review, data entry, test, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts, components used in the manufacturing of pressure transducers; performing various tasks related to the quality function.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs inspection of finished machined and assembled parts and all mechanical measurements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years prior experience in Quality Control, receiving inspection.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical measuring.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows and experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
