The City of Auburn, AL is seeking an Inspector–Engineering Services to perform inspection and acceptance of City infrastructure. The role reports to the Inspection Manager-Engineering Services and requires hands-on evaluation of water, sewer, storm drains, and street construction.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years' experience, and be able to obtain Grade I Water Certification and QCI Certification within one year; valid driver's license required.

This position is responsible for the inspection and acceptance of City infrastructure. This position reports to the Inspection Manager-Engineering Services.

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The work is medium work, which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, crouching or walking. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, climbs ladders, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.
The work is typically performed in various indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally in hot, cold, or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
