City of Auburn (AL) is seeking a Utility Maintenance Worker for the Sewer Collection System. The role reports to the Sewer Collection System Supervisor and focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing the sewer network.
Responsibilities include cleaning mains, operating related equipment, and supporting after-hours emergency calls. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, with CDL class B attainable within six months.

This position is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the sewer collection system. This position reports to the Sewer Collection System Supervisor.

The work requires the employee to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, climbing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguishes between shades of color and utilizes the sense of smell and hearing.
The work is typically performed in outdoor environments sometimes potentially hazardous, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, water, mud, sewage, dust, dirt, grease, contagious or infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
