A leading company in the electronics sector is seeking a dedicated Inspector to join their Quality Assurance team. The position involves ensuring quality standards are met through detailed inspections and adherence to IPC guidelines. Candidates must possess IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications, with responsibilities including various inspection processes and contributing to quality documentation. The Inspector is a key member of the Quality Assurance Department responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of electronic assemblies through detailed inspection and adherence to industry standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Inspector will perform in-process and final inspections using advanced tools including 3D AOI systems, x-ray machines, and microscopes. This role requires certification in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, and the ability to evaluate assemblies against stringent class requirements.
The Inspector will also contribute to quality documentation, such as defect tracking and AS9102 First Article Reports, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean activities and 5S maintenance. A strong understanding of inspection protocols, safety guidelines, and ESD control is essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to upholding high-quality standards in a collaborative production environment.
Principal Accountabilities:
• IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certified and retain those certifications.
• IPC-7711certified if team indicates the need for more qualified personnel.
• Inspect assemblies using 3D AOI system and pass or fail per IPC-A-610 class.
• Inspect assemblies at Final inspection and pass or fail per IPC-A-610 class.
• SMT and Final QA SFE certified and maintain that certification.
• Complete defect tracking in database.
• Complete AS9102 FA reports and submit to QA.
• Operate either x-ray machines per work instructions
• Operate AOI systems per work instructions
• Run in-line and batch washers per work instruction
• Use the MES to track time the status of jobs
• Create and complete non-conformances/DMR's
• Ability to read, understand, and navigate in Fusion documentation.
• Help to update procedures and work instructions as needed to match current process.
• Maintain 6S standards and continually look for ways to improve processes.
• Follow safety, ESD, ITAR and QMS protocols.
• Actively participate in Lean activities and embrace change.
• Follow the procedures as defined in the QMS that pertain to your area or position. Help update procedures and work instructions as needed to match current process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of and ability to inspect to IPC-A-610
Inspect through a microscope
Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
Good writing skills
Ability to work within a team
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certified
Prior Final Inspection experience in the electronics industry.
Prior inspection experience
Shift Schedule:
This is a full-time position on the A Shift, working four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
