Inspector - Electronics Manufacturing Services

Position Title: Inspector

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Wage Range: $20-$26

The Inspector is a key member of the Quality Assurance Department responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of electronic assemblies through detailed inspection and adherence to industry standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Inspector will perform in-process and final inspections using advanced tools including 3D AOI systems, x-ray machines, and microscopes. This role requires certification in IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, and the ability to evaluate assemblies against stringent class requirements.

The Inspector will also contribute to quality documentation, such as defect tracking and AS9102 First Article Reports, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean activities and 5S maintenance. A strong understanding of inspection protocols, safety guidelines, and ESD control is essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to upholding high-quality standards in a collaborative production environment.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Inspect assemblies using 3D AOI systems and pass or fail per IPC-A-610 class.
  • Perform final inspections and pass or fail per IPC-A-610 class.
  • Maintain SMT and Final QA SFE certifications.
  • Complete defect tracking in the database.
  • Complete and submit AS9102 FA reports to QA.
  • Operate x-ray machines and AOI systems per work instructions.
  • Run in-line and batch washers as per work instructions.
  • Use MES to track job status and time.
  • Create and complete non-conformances/DMRs.
  • Read, understand, and navigate Fusion documentation.
  • Help update procedures and work instructions to match current processes.
  • Maintain 6S standards and seek process improvements.
  • Follow safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols.
  • Participate in Lean activities and embrace change.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect to IPC-A-610.
  • Ability to inspect through a microscope.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Prior final inspection experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Previous inspection experience.

Shift Schedule: Full-time, on the A shift, four 10-hour days (Monday-Thursday), 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
