Job Title

Inspector Apprentice

Job Compensation

Hourly base pay ranges from $13.70 to $20.53 per hour. Compensation may include additional commissions and incentive programs.

Schedule & Location

Day shift. Requires onsite presence at a specified Cox Automotive location. Travel may be required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Verify vehicle information from work orders; identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues by inspecting vehicles upon receipt.
  • Document all findings and prepare necessary reports, including electronic condition reports (ECR).
  • Set up and perform day‑end system procedures.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safety and health guidelines.
  • Conduct OVE courtesy walk‑around inspections.
  • Maintain knowledge of system capabilities, required software, and web‑based applications.
  • Stay informed on improvements and changes in body mechanics, frame labor, and inspection techniques.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment and participate in Safety Excellence activities.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.
  • Work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED; less than two years of experience; valid driver's license and safe driving record; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: Strong technical knowledge, good organizational skills, multitasking ability, ability to follow directions, advanced computer skills.
  • Physical requirements: stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; bend, stoop, squat, or kneel; lift and hold at least 10 lbs at waist level; lift up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment
  • 100% outdoors with exposure to weather and inclement conditions.
  • Moderate noise level; potential exposure to fumes and odors.
  • May require overtime exceeding 40 hours per week.
Drug Testing

Applicants must clear a pre‑employment drug test. The workplace is drug‑free; possession, use, or being under the influence of illegal drugs during work hours or on company property is prohibited.
