Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Inspector – Level 3 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This 100% onsite role supports quality assurance activities to ensure products meet requirements, and works with engineering and manufacturing to identify issues and support program execution. The position follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Must read schematics and block diagrams for test setups.
• Must read engineering docs and inspect to drawings and parts lists.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, or relevant experience in Electrical or RF.
• Personal initiative to engage in assigned work area without constant coaching.
• Willingness to work off shift activities with overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Fluent in Microsoft applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Above average technical writing skills are mandatory.
• Experience in ISO-certified environments and using Process Specifications or Military Standards.
• Hold workmanship certifications (IPC-A-620, NASA 8739 series, etc.).
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Other duties as assigned

The Inspector 3 supports quality assurance activities to ensure products and processes meet established requirements and standards. This role works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify issues, maintain quality, and support successful program execution.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In This Job, You Will

• Must be able to read and interpret schematics and block diagrams for verifications of test setups.
• Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, or relevant experience in Electrical or RF field of work in performance of technical job function.
• Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area without needing to be constantly coached or led to next assignment.
• Willingness to work off shift activities with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as required.
• Willingness to travel (though not often) in support of S/C level activities is required.
• Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
• Above average technical writing skills is mandatory.
• Previous experience working in ISO-certified company and using Process Specifications or Military Standards to inform inspection or work activities
• Have held workmanship certifications at previous employment locations for manufacturing standards (e.g. IPC-A-620, NASA 8739 series, etc.)
• Strong work ethic and good attitude - it should be evident from output of work that the best possible effort was given.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• No clearance required to start
• Knowledge in Electrical, or Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering is a plus.
• Well-versed in use of TIPQA and/or Costpoint database applications

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,600.00 - $121,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
