Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks an Inspector 3 to inspect electronic units and subsystems per defined specifications. The role requires reading engineering drawings, part lists, and using measurement tools while working under a microscope.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, be able to lift 30 pounds, and be eligible for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 4 years of related quality/inspection/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and part lists.
• Comfort working under a microscope and using measurement tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Inspect visually and by measurements of electronic units and assemblies per specifications.
• Utilize assembly instructions and part lists to determine good/bad parts.
• Interface with SAP to document and track production data.
• Review contracts and shipping paperwork for accuracy.
• Commit to safety and adherence to shop practices while lifting up to 30 pounds.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Inspector 3 to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah.

What You'll Get To Do

• The Inspector uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
• Uses various measuring devices as described in the Assembly Instruction.
• Inspector will utilize released build documentation to make good part/bad part decisions.
• Inspector will utilize drawings, part list, Assembly Instructions, Standard Shop Practices, dial indicators, micrometers, scales and other tools as defined by the work instruction.
• Inspector will utilize SAP (Standards, Applications and Process) daily to interface with production hardware.
• Inspector will review contracts and shipping paperwork for accuracy.
• Inspector will work under a microscope.

The ideal candidate must be able to work under a microscope, read engineering drawings, part lists, lift up to 30 pounds, sit for long periods of time, stand for long periods of time, and knowledgeable with using Microsoft Office Suite.

Basic Qualifications For The Inspector 3

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience in quality, inspection, or manufacturing.
• US Citizenship
• Must able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• J-STD Training or experience.
• IPC-A-610/620 Training or experience.
• Torque Training or experience.
• Experience working in an ESD (electrostatic discharge) environment.
• PPE experience.
• SAP experience.
• Experience with decision making process.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
