Job summary

Amcor in Cumberland, MD is seeking a dependable packaging operator to inspect and package plastic products and to operate equipment safely. You will follow GMP and HACCP practices, complete required paperwork, and monitor production quality to ensure efficient runs.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 35 lbs, read and write, and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate parts requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand/walk for multiple consecutive hours.
• Read, write, and complete basic math.
• Follow instructions in both oral and written form.
• Minimal lifting capabilities of 35 lbs

Responsibilities

• Inspect and package plastic products of good quality.
• Operate equipment efficiently and safely.
• Safely use basic tools before palletizing boxes.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately.
• Monitor production runs to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Maintain continuous production runs and machine efficiency.
• Keep area clean and manage scrap daily.
• Take on additional duties as directed, safely.
• Follow company and department procedures.
• Follow Safety, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP practices.

• Safely utilize basic tools before placing boxes on a pallet.
• Properly complete all required paperwork.
• Ensure accuracy and monitor quality of production runs.
• Maintain continuous production runs and machine efficiency.
• Maintain plant cleanliness through daily work-area cleaning and proper scrap placement.
• Perform additional job duties as required by leadership efficiently and safely.
• Adhere to all Company and Departmental procedures.
• Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP practices.

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $17.00 per hour ; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience between $17.00 per hour and $20.00 per hour
