Job summary

Unilode-Aviation in Sterling, Virginia, is seeking an Inspector to perform airworthiness inspections and support quality assurance within the repair station. You will ensure inspections, documentation, and repairs comply with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include handling work orders, in-progress and final inspections, and RTS documentation, while supporting QA activities and audits.

Qualifications

• Trade-based qualification or aviation-related certification (A&P licence or FAA Repairman preferred).
• Proven experience in aviation maintenance, quality, or repair inspection.
• Strong knowledge of FAR Part 121, 145 regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in documenting processes and technical records.
• Forklift certification (preferred).
• Able to lift 65 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage accurate and timely work orders in line with station processes.
• Perform inspections of aircraft components and approvals of work orders.
• Review and record results to ensure proper Return to Service documentation.
• Verify compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and service bulletins.
• Apply OEM data and follow Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual procedures.
• Support QA team and act on delegated quality-related duties.
• Carry out training and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts when certified) and assist with loading/unloading.
• Represent the repair station during audits or regulatory visits.
• Maintain electronic recordkeeping standards and data security in FAA-approved systems.

Description

The Inspector is responsible for conducting airworthiness inspections and supporting quality assurance activities within Unilode’s repair station. The role ensures that all inspections, documentation, and repairs comply with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and safety protocols. The Inspector also contributes to workshop organisation, technical support, and regulatory audits, helping maintain highquality standards and on-time production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Inspections and Approve Work Orders Customer Focus, Collaborate
  • Create and manage accurate and timely work orders in line with station processes.
  • Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of aircraft components.
  • Review and record results to ensure proper Return to Service (RTS) documentation.
• Ensure Compliance with Regulations and Technical Standards Courage, Collaborate
  • Verify compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, airworthiness directives, and service bulletins.
  • Apply OEM technical data and follow procedures outlined in the Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM).
  • Support the QA team and act on delegated quality-related duties from the Chief Inspector or QA Manager.
• Support Workshop Operations and Quality Assurance Collaborate, Customer Focus
  • Carry out routine and non-routine tasks independently to meet production schedules.
  • Assist the Chief Inspector in training and technical guidance of team members.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts (upon certification), and assist with vehicle loading/unloading.

  • Represent the repair station during audits or visits from customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with electronic recordkeeping standards and maintain data security in FAA approved systems.
  • Provide support documentation and technical responses as required during inspections.
