Schedule: 40 hrs/Week (3rd shifts)
About the Opportunity
- Perform precision mechanical inspections from dimensioned drawings using calipers, micrometers, surface plate, height gauges, gage blocks, gage pins, optical comparator, toolmaker's microscope, coordinate measuring machine, and other standard inspection equipment.
- Perform visual inspections of electronic assemblies using microscopes & magnifiers.
- Perform first article inspections and generate detailed reports when needed.
- Communicate discrepant findings verbally and via written discrepancy reports to Supplier Quality Engineers/Technicians (SQE/SQT).

What You’ll Do
- Independently perform source inspection at local suppliers.
- Participate in MRB meetings to support SQE/SQT's.
- Accurately maintain records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Identify equipment needs for jobs requiring new or custom metrology tools.
- Identify Dock to Stock (DTS) candidates per established procedures.
- Present nominations to SQE.
- Work closely with buyers, planners, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers and program leadership.
- Support SQE/SQT with routine supplier audits when needed.
- Responsible for performing inspections, tests and audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications.
- Interpret manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in‑process or final assemblies.
- Rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
- Maintain support documentation and perform sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and build of assemblies.
- Review and report performance data.
- Ensure raw materials, in‑process and finished products meet company and test standards. Determine or assist in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection.
- May interface with customer quality representatives or suppliers.
- Developing support individual contributor.
- Work under general supervision.
- Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
- Identify problems and issues in straightforward situations.
- Communicate with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
- Follow established processes to complete tasks.
- Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution.
- Work to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
- Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task‑related activities.
Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6+ years of experience in assemblies and quality control programs.
What Sets You Apart
- Associate's Degree.
- Experience maintaining records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
- IPC‑A‑610 Certification.
- Hexagon CMM certification (PC‑DMIS software).
- Keyence Vision system programming experience.
- Optical lens inspection experience.
