  • Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment and systems; interpret indications using acceptance criteria.
  • Document inspection results clearly and accurately with full traceability of parts and records.
  • May support airworthiness release determinations when authorized and participate in regulatory inspections.

SUMMARYThe Inspection Technician IV performs mechanical, system, and nondestructive inspections to ensure that aircraft materials, components, assemblies, repairs, and processes comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Responsibilities include final assembly inspection, in‑process and final airworthiness inspections, and Level II Magnetic Particle (MT) and Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI/PT) testing in accordance with approved NDT procedures, FAA regulations, and OEM documentation.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and functional inspections of aircraft materials, components, subassemblies, assemblies, and final product configurations using blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, and other references.Perform MT and FPI inspections in accordance with approved NDT techniques, procedures, FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and customer specifications.Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment and systems; interpret and evaluate indications using applicable acceptance criteria.Document inspection results clearly and accurately, ensuring full traceability of parts and records.Verify production, engineering test processes, and repair work for compliance with manufacturing, test, and regulatory requirements.Maintain inspection logs, reports, and all required records.Support NDT lab operations including equipment qualification, process validation, procedure development, and environmental controls.Identify nonconformances, initiate corrective actions, and assist in root cause investigations.Perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections, verifying compliance with approved data and regulatory requirements.May support airworthiness release determinations when authorized and participate in audits and regulatory inspections.Maintain a clean, organized, FOD‑free work environment.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneSKILLS AND ABILITIESProficiency with precision measuring instruments including scales, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and related equipment.Thorough understanding of manufacturing, production, repair, and engineering test processes.Ability to interpret inspection criteria and make sound accept/reject decisions.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Access to Export Control information required.Ability to understand, interpret, and follow instructions; strong concentration skills.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEMinimum 4 years aviation production/maintenance titled inspector experience or 7 years related aviation production/maintenance experience.Minimum 2 years' NDT experience in aerospace or similar regulated industry.Familiarity with FAA Part 145 Repair Station requirements preferred.This document does not create an employment contracts, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” relationship.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCertified Level II in MT and PT per NAS 410 or SNT‑TC‑1A Required.A & P License Required.Additional NDT certifications (ET) preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
