Job summary

RTX is seeking a Receiving Inspector to inspect incoming materials, ensure conformance with purchase orders and engineering drawings, and prevent nonconforming items from entering production.

You will perform dimensional and visual inspections using fixed or variable measuring instruments, record results, and follow work instructions to verify dimensions and qualification. Onsite role with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Inspection experience in a production environment preferred.
• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic shop math required.

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, components, and documentation to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements, engineering drawings, quality standards, and customer/regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in preventing nonconforming material from entering production and ensuring on-time, quality product flow.

What You Will Do:

• Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
• May use fixed or variable measuring instruments where work instructions require checking dimensions and recording results.
• Perform simple mathematical computations to determine pass/fail results based on allowed tolerance.
• Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or calibration of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
• Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.
• Must maintain Inspection stamp.
• Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
• Flexibility around shifts for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
