Job summary

Smith+Nephew is seeking a quality inspector to inspect products at various stages, ensure conformance to GD&T and prints, and support validation activities. You will use vision systems and gauges to determine as found/as left conditions and maintain precise records.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 0+ years in inspection, with strong attention to detail and good communication. This role is on-site in Memphis, TN, with common quality assurance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Predominantly documentation comparison and review.

What will you be doing?

• Inspect assembled product, semi-finished product & finished product per inspection procedures/drawings and to print specifications.
• Utilize attribute and variable measuring equipment/gauges as well as mating parts to determine as found/as left conditions of product.
• Support the qualification/validation processes for company product.
• Review corresponding product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and QSR requirements.
• Support department and organizational objectives.
• Represent and promote quality standards.
• Inspect operators performing a variety of processes on operations floor.
• Perform other quality functions as required.
• Train other inspectors on required tasks.
• Understanding of good manufacturing practices.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and blueprint interpretation.
• Must be capable of detecting nonconformities while performing repetitive inspections.
• Ability to make product judgments against applicable specifications.
• Operate automated inspection equipment ex: vision systems, digital comparators.
• Utilize attribute and variable measuring equipment/gauges as well as mating parts to determine as found/as left conditions of product.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Must possess good documentation skills to maintain neat and accurate records.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and/or clean room environment.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to relay inspection results in a clear manner.

What will you need to be successful?
