Job summary

Johnsonville Sausage, LLC seeks an Inspection Operator at the Meadowside facility to ensure high-quality sausage products and safe, efficient production. You will set up, run, inspect equipment, and document SAP records while helping the team meet performance goals.

Hours are 1:00pm–9:30pm, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed. You must lift up to 50 pounds, work in cold conditions, and learn SAP transactions. Forklift license and English proficiency are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, rotate, teardown, and inspect equipment following safety LOTO procedures.
• Operate inspection equipment including Dumpers, X-Rays, and the production line.
• Document products and supplies accurately in SAP.
• Complete production paperwork with accuracy.
• Manage meat inventory and age.
• Ensure material quality; reject defective items.
• Communicate with Scheduler, Coordinators, Team Leaders, and Reports.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $27.19/hr - $28.90/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium

Hours: 1:00pm - 9:30pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands).

Responsibilities

• Setup, run, rotate positions, teardown, and inspection of equipment in your area including hot water washes all by following proper safety lock out tag out procedures.
• Operate inspection equipment including Dumpers, X-Rays, and the production line.
• Take ownership for daily accurate SAP documentation of products/supplies (including scanning, counting to verify materials, and document quantities).
• Complete production documentation paperwork accurately.
• Able to effectively manage meat inventory (i.e. meat age).
• Must be able to manage the quality of materials used (i.e. rejecting bad materials, etc.).
• Communicate between Scheduler, Production Coordinators, Team Leaders, and Production Reports as needed.

Experience

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong math background is required.
• Complete production documentation paperwork accurately.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to set up all inspection equipment independently after proper training.
• Must be able to identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be willing to learn basic computer skills such as (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must have a very keen eye for visual inspection purposes.
• Ability to learn and accurately perform all the SAP transactions associated with position.
• Willing to work in cold conditions.
• Must be able to obtain forklift license and keep safe driving record.
• Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
• Based on business necessity, must be proficient in English.

Other Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
