Job summary

Teneo is seeking an Associate Director to lead day‑to‑day administration of insolvency appointments within the CPI team. You will set strategy, supervise both onshore and offshore staff, and ensure statutory compliance across Australian frameworks while coordinating with creditors and regulators.

You will manage reporting to stakeholders, lead meetings, and drive asset realisation in high‑volume matters, using strong financial analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Approximately 6 to 10 years of corporate and personal insolvency experience.
• Advanced experience with insolvency case management systems such as IPS Cloud or similar.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing lifecycle of corporate and personal insolvency appointments, including medium/complex matters.
• Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, reporting obligations and compliance deadlines under insolvency frameworks.
• Excellent written communication for complex correspondence, reports and statutory documents.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work across a team.
• Ability to lead a portfolio of engagements with competing deadlines and resource allocation.
• Strong commercial judgement and risk awareness for recommendations and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day administration of a portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency appointments from start to finish.
• Develop and implement case strategy with appointees and junior team members.
• Ensure case files are complete, accurate and maintained per firm procedures.
• Oversee case checklists and statutory diaries, meet deadlines.
• Review and approve statutory lodgements with ASIC, ATO and AFSA.
• Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines under relevant acts.
• Prepare and review reports to creditors and stakeholders including progress/outcome statements.
• Lead preparation of reports to secured creditors and key stakeholders.
• Manage external stakeholder queries and communications professionally and timely.
• Act as primary day-to-day contact for directors, insolvent individuals, creditors, solicitors, agents, valuers, financiers, regulators.
• Lead meetings of creditors and stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
• Lead site attendance and oversee on-site operations for trading businesses and asset security.
• Supervise and develop junior staff, provide coaching and feedback.
• Provide concise strategic updates on case progression, risks and deadlines.
• Ensure best practice and regulatory compliance across engagement team.
• Direct investigative workstreams and use technology to improve efficiencies.
• Lead investigations into antecedent/voidable transactions and recovery strategies.
• Oversee asset identification, recovery and realisation processes.
• Oversee creditor claims adjudication, dividend calculations and distributions.
• Prepare estimated outcome statements and cash flows.
