Job summary

CRC Group is seeking an Inside Underwriter to evaluate risk, apply carrier guidelines, and place business within binding authority and brokerage markets. You will manage submissions, quoting, binding, and policy confirmation, ensuring compliance with internal standards while supporting growth.

The role requires knowledge of underwriting principles, licensing, and ability to work with retail agents to resolve coverage issues and meet production targets in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or insurance designation preferred.
• Experience within underwriting or brokering specialty or E&S insurance products.
• Career progression toward broader authority, complex risk evaluation, and independent decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business within binding authority and brokerage markets, including evaluating risk, determining terms, and placing coverage.
• Manage the underwriting process end-to-end: submissions, quoting, binding, and policy confirmation within authority.
• Negotiate coverage terms with carriers while aligning with underwriting strategy.
• Resolve underwriting and coverage issues by analyzing risk characteristics and applying solutions for retail agents.
• Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
• Support production goals by driving new and renewal business and maintaining workflow efficiency.
