Job Description

Inside Sales Trainee

Reports to: Sales Manager

Job Type: Full Time-Salary-Exempt

Intent: To develop the trainees' sales skills and knowledge base, with the option of growth into an outside sales position within 18-24 months.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Develop in-depth knowledge of Jackson Oil & Solvents products and utilize this knowledge to successfully sell Jackson Oil’s products and services to new and existing customers.
  2. Actively and consistently call on assigned accounts according to established policies and procedures, expectations, guidelines, and their compensation plan, if applicable.
  3. Engage in sales prospecting from existing or potential customers.
  4. Execute a sales plan generated by leadership that meets or exceeds sales quotas and supports company revenue and profit targets.
  5. Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature, utilizing tools provided by JOS (e.g., Sales Order Template).
  6. Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  7. Demonstrate integrity in all aspects of work and dealings with others.
  8. Communicate professionally to build trust and enhance relationships externally and internally.
  9. Manage all sales activity input into the company CRM with detailed and accurate information within required timeframes, including all SalesNow activity.
  10. Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and internal departments.
  11. Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  12. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing publications, and establishing networks.
  13. Participate in online and classroom training programs.
  14. Collaborate with sales team members to ensure proper coverage of all current and prospective customers.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Between two and three years of sales experience.
  2. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  3. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  5. Proficiency in CRM systems and ability to utilize CRM fully.
  6. Working knowledge of operating systems and navigation to support sales activities.
  7. Organized and detail-oriented.
  8. Excellent time-management skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
