Job Description
Inside Sales Trainee
Reports to: Sales Manager
Job Type: Full Time-Salary-Exempt
Intent: To develop the trainees' sales skills and knowledge base, with the option of growth into an outside sales position within 18-24 months.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Jackson Oil & Solvents products and utilize this knowledge to successfully sell Jackson Oil’s products and services to new and existing customers.
- Actively and consistently call on assigned accounts according to established policies and procedures, expectations, guidelines, and their compensation plan, if applicable.
- Engage in sales prospecting from existing or potential customers.
- Execute a sales plan generated by leadership that meets or exceeds sales quotas and supports company revenue and profit targets.
- Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature, utilizing tools provided by JOS (e.g., Sales Order Template).
- Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate integrity in all aspects of work and dealings with others.
- Communicate professionally to build trust and enhance relationships externally and internally.
- Manage all sales activity input into the company CRM with detailed and accurate information within required timeframes, including all SalesNow activity.
- Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and internal departments.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing publications, and establishing networks.
- Participate in online and classroom training programs.
- Collaborate with sales team members to ensure proper coverage of all current and prospective customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Between two and three years of sales experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and ability to utilize CRM fully.
- Working knowledge of operating systems and navigation to support sales activities.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
