Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist II to handle inbound inquiries from digital and phone channels. You will qualify leads, gather requirements, and convert them into opportunities with proper ownership.

This role partners with Account Managers and cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality lead handling and customer experience. The role focuses on speed, professionalism, and accurate CRM data, serving as an entry point into broader sales or commercial paths.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, sales development, customer support, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or related field)

Responsibilities

  • Inbound Lead Response & Qualification: Respond to inbound inquiries within SLAs, qualify leads, capture accurate customer information, gather quote requirements, and convert qualified leads into Opportunities with proper ownership and documentation.
  • Nurture Follow‑Up & Customer Engagement: Conduct timely follow‑ups, answer clarification questions, share approved information and quotes, provide status updates, and maintain engagement until handoff.
  • CRM Data Quality: Maintain accurate and complete CRM records, including lead and opportunity details, activity logs, quote documentation, customer responses, and next steps.
  • Funnel & Pipeline Management: Track opportunity status, forecasts, close dates, and dispositions; deliver budgetary quotes and ensure opportunities are properly managed through the sales funnel.
  • Transactional Opportunity Ownership: Own low‑complexity opportunities end‑to‑end when appropriate, including quoting, follow‑up, and closing within approved commercial thresholds.
  • Collaboration & Escalation: Escalate complex technical, pricing, or product‑fit questions and collaborate with Sales, Technical, Inside Sales, Customer Service, and other support teams to resolve issues.
  • Team & Marketing Partnership: Partner with the Inside Sales Manager on coaching and development, while sharing inbound trends and feedback with Sales and Marketing to improve lead quality and customer engagement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve templates, qualification questions, routing, standardization, messaging, and overall inbound sales processes.

Job Overview

The Inside Sales Specialist II is the primary point of contact for inbound inquiries across digital (web forms, web chat) and phone channels. This role focuses on speed, professionalism, and qualification accuracy to convert inbound interest into well-defined, sales‑ready opportunities. The Inside Sales Specialist II partners closely with Account Managers, Channel Partners and cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality lead handling, adherence to service level agreements, and a best‑in‑class customer experience. The role is foundational in developing strong commercial skills and serves as an entry point into broader sales, marketing, or commercial excellence career paths. This level may own some quoting within approved templates and commercial guardrails. The role does not own opportunities beyond qualification and handoff.

Responsibilities

Requirements

2+ years of experience in inside sales, sales development, customer support, or related roles

Pay Range

The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $55,000-$75,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate’s skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
