JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director, National Accounts, the Inside Sales Specialist develops, maintains, and supports long-term business partnerships with assigned customers. Responsibilities include conducting sales calls and customer communications to drive incremental business growth through new products, contract compliance, and customized strategic account programs. This position works in partnership with American Health Packaging (AHP) Strategic Account Managers (field sales) within designated regions to strategically expand and maximize AHP’s presence within the institutional healthcare marketplace.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as the primary customer contact for AHP and implements programs within an assigned geographic area and/or account base to maximize product pull-through and distribution while minimizing service-level issues.
  • Initiates proactive outreach to AHP customers to grow sales revenue and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Independently conducts pre- and post-call research and planning, establishes objectives for each interaction, and anticipates customer needs.
  • Meets or exceeds monthly sales and activity goals established in partnership with the manager, including call volume, revenue, and margin objectives.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of customer needs through consultative dialogue and maintains knowledge of market conditions and customer-specific competitive dynamics.
  • Demonstrates consistent follow-through in customer interactions, tailors sales messages to customer needs, and conducts timely follow-up to capture additional business and revenue opportunities.
  • Maintains accurate, current records of account’s activity, customer and contact information, results, and interactions in the CRM (Salesforce) and other designated sales management tools.
  • Partners with AHP Strategic Account Managers and the National Accounts team to support product access, communicate new product launch information relevant to assigned customers, and execute team-based strategies that maximize sales opportunities within designated strategic hospital and institutional systems.
  • Develops ideas for future customer calls and engagement activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes reports and data to measure the profitable growth of AHP products and develops and implements strategies to sustain that growth.
  • Participates in internal company meetings as needed.
  • Reviews and monitors internal product reports to maintain current knowledge of product supply and availability.
  • Performs other related duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad knowledge in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field, generally acquired through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. AAA minimum of three (3) years of directly related, progressively responsible experience is typically required. Previous experience in generic pharmaceutical or commodity sales is preferred.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work hours aligned with customers’ local time zones, as business needs require. Ability to adapt to daily changes in products, procedures, and priorities. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships, with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Working knowledge of sales management, sales planning, goal setting, and related business information. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to adapt communication style to a variety of audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working and business relationships. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to coordinate issue resolution through appropriate channels while maintaining a sales-focused customer conversation. Ability to interpret customer financial data and develop effective strategies to address identified financial considerations. Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics in response to marketplace changes. Strong creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain focused and disciplined. Ability to remain calm and professional when working with customers under pressure while maintaining and promoting a positive image of American Health Packaging and Cencora. Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, or comparable software systems is required. Willingness to travel to conferences, trade events, sales meetings, and other business events as required.

Full time Salary Range*

Salary Range* $62,400 - 97,900 *This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
