Grain Processing Corporation, a KENT WORLDWIDE™ company, is seeking an on‑site Inside Sales Representative to play a key role in expanding our Milling Segment and supporting the success of our Specialty Ingredients Sales team. In this role, you'll play a key part in expanding business by partnering with flour mills, grain processors, and ingredient manufacturers to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and deliver value‑driven solutions. This position combines account management, business development, market analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive customer success and business results. - This role is designed and intended to be performed on‑site in Muscatine, Iowa.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the marketing and sale of products within the Milling Segment of Specialty Ingredients Sales.
- Report on customer activities, shipping and order volumes, sales forecasts, and logistical considerations.
- Monitor and report on competitive activity, including pricing, product innovations, quality, and market developments.
- Maintain up‑to‑date sales records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and publish reporting on contracted volume compliance.
- Conduct market research, reporting, and other special assignments to identify growth opportunities within the milling industry.
- Initiate and maintain personal, phone, and written contact with customers and prospects.
- Cultivate accounts by maintaining close business relationships with Procurement, Product Development, Production, Technical Services, and other stakeholders who influence purchasing decisions.
- Identify key accounts, both current and prospective, and develop strategies to build and maintain business within those accounts.
- Oversee internet inquiries and direct opportunities as appropriate.
- Coordinate the new customer setup process for milling accounts.
- Act as a pricing liaison between sales and customer service.
- Support account management activities and assist with customer presentations, business reviews, and sales initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, &/OR SKILLS NEEDED
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study preferred.
- Minimum two years of sales, account management, customer service, or business development experience preferred.
- Experience within the milling, grain processing, food ingredients, agricultural, or related industries preferred.
- Demonstrates strong market insight and strategic alignment with long‑term business goals.
- Exercises sound judgment, ethical decision‑making, and personal integrity.
- Communicates confidently and effectively across written and verbal channels.
- Operates independently while fostering collaboration and team‑oriented results.
- Proactive in identifying solutions, developing sales strategies, and engaging key stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and customer requests.
TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Minimal travel is required (<10%) for training, company events, customer visits, and industry meetings.
- Primarily an office environment with occasional visits to plant facilities where required safety policies and PPE requirements must be followed.
