Job summary

Zeeland Lumber & Supply, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks an Inside Sales Representative to support both new and existing customers and provide product assistance to the outside sales team.

You will generate quotes, share product dimension information, and contribute to sales efforts by calling customers to drive orders and coordinate deliveries and installations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in building material industry preferred.
• 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, prices and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
• Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service request; file paperwork accordingly.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products; obtain pricing specifications, uses and availability.
• Manage schedules for projects by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
• Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
• Check back orders and resolve issues; solve billing problems and compile data for closing.
• Handle special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists.
• Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
• Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.

Job description

Based in Michigan, Zeeland Lumber & Supply operates truss and wall panel component manufacturing plants along with full-service building material yards that distribute lumber and an expansive range of specialty products, such as windows, doors, roofing, cabinets, decking, and interior and exterior trim.

A Brief Overview

The Inside Sales Representative assists with new and existing customer sales and provides product support to outside sales representatives. This position provides quotes and product dimension information, both in person and over the phone.

What you will do

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in building material industry with basic knowledge of product and application required.
• 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate computer, calculator and cash register.
• Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
• Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Should be familiar with inventory and inventory control.
• Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants and offices.
