Job summary

Arrow Building Center, Lampert Lumber and Lyman Lumber Companies, divisions of US LBM, in Minnesota, are seeking an Inside Sales Associate. You will respond to customer inquiries, assist with product selection, pricing and scheduling deliveries.

You will enter orders, process returns, coordinate deliveries, maintain stock, and build professional relationships with customers. Strong product knowledge and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
• Familiarity with inventory control and stock management is expected.
• Experience handling cash or operating a POS system is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use standard software.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction products is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, quotes, complaints, and delivery scheduling.
• Enter orders, credits, returns, price quotes, and service requests; file related paperwork.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products and obtain price/spec information.
• Manage project schedules by coordinating with sales, jobsites and customers.
• Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Research credits, returns and late payments as needed.

A Brief Overview

Pay Range : $24.00 - $28.00/hour

What you will do

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, prices and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales.
• Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service request; file paperwork accordingly.
• Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products. Obtains information on pricing specifications, uses and availability.
• Manage schedules for project by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers.
• Maintains stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Researches credits, returns, and late payments as needed.
• Check on back orders and resolve any outstanding issues; solve billing problems and compile data for closing.
• Handle special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists.
• Develop and grow professional relationships with customers.
• Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in building material industry with basic knowledge of product and application required.
• 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate computer, calculator and cash register.
• Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
• Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Should be familiar with inventory and inventory control.
• Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants and offices.
