Job summary

Essential Utilities, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Gas Service Coordinator to educate applicants on obtaining natural gas service and to manage the end-to-end intake process.

You will prequalify requests, generate SAP notifications, and coordinate data collection with Sales teams, ensuring accurate and timely processing for installations. Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the natural gas industry and company policies.
  • Strong customer service, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
  • Capable of learning procedures and following established processes.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and educate callers on gas service processes.
  • Prequalify applicants for gas availability using maps.
  • Create SAP notifications for service requests and process applications.
  • Assist with field information and documentation for new gas installations.
  • Coordinate with Outside Sales and Large Volume reps to gather required data.
  • Enter initial gas applications and notifications into SAP.
  • Track and update data in spreadsheets and shared documents.
  • Support the Sales team as needed and handle additional projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Respond to all inquiries and educate callers on the process of obtaining natural gas service. Prequalify applicants on gas availability by utilizing company mapping systems.
  • Create notifications in SAP for applicants’ requests for service.
  • Determine and create applications of service balancing requests and business installation standards.
  • If service is available, obtain and process a gas service application.
  • For applications requiring next level approval, assign to appropriate employee/department.
  • Assist Outside Sales and Large Volume representatives by obtaining and processing all necessary information, such as applicant, location and load information, site plans, etc. Enter initial gas application and notification into SAP.
  • Assist with inquiries regarding application status from initial call through final gas installation. This includes plumbers, contractors, builders, developers, etc.
  • Responsible to track, update, and enter data on individual Excel spreadsheets and shared documents.
  • Any additional duties and/or projects as assigned by Sales Supervisor or Sales Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the natural gas industry.
  • Knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Strong customer service, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills (such as Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams and Excel)
  • Ability to organize and multi-task activities, resources, and time.
  • Ability to take direction, learn, follow procedures, and consistently produce quality results.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collect, compile, & review data.
  • Reliable, regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
