Job summary

Wurth Industry US in Bondurant, IA is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to serve as the internal first line contact for assigned customer accounts and to support the end-to-end sales cycle through account management and data analysis.

The role requires meeting KPIs, professional customer interaction, data entry, quote support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve service & profitability. Strong Excel and SAP skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; High school diploma/GED required.
  • 3-5 years customer service/inside sales or related experience required.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint proficiency (intermediate to advanced).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • SAP skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to read and analyze customer purchase orders, drawings and vendor-supplied reference material.
  • Ability to analyze data to make decisions and impacts for the customer.
  • Ability to supply customers with professional quotations and recommendations.
  • Clear verbal communication via phone and in person.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all established KPIs.

  • Data entry, quote support, record management, and logistics coordination.
  • Manage customer master data (shipping conditions, pricing, contact information, CRM data).
  • Proactively drive account management and move opportunities forward.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues.
  • Improve customer VMI program and drive efficiency.
  • Establish selling prices and profit margins and research profitability.
  • Prepare continuous improvement reviews for customers.
  • Utilize reporting tools for inventory review and new item additions.
  • Manage customer portals for demand, quotes, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Interpret customer prints to provide accurate quotes.
  • Suggest internal process improvements.
  • Respond to requests via phone, fax, email, or chat.
  • Upsell products and services during promotions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative acts as the internal first line contact for assigned customer accounts. They are responsible for general and specific tasks related to the effective execution and support of the end-to-end sales cycle processes through account management and data analyzation. This position requires the following functions to meet customers' needs: sales, expediting, quoting, and quality assurance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work to meet all established Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Always represents the company professionally and courteously.
  • Partners with Sales team to ensure account retention through seamless customer support, resource orchestration, and order fulfillment troubleshooting
  • Data entry, quote support, record management, researching activities, logistics (communication with warehouse), shipment scheduling, etc. via defined processes
  • Effective management of all customer's master data (IE: shipping conditions, contract pricing, customer contact information, CRM data, prior day invoicing, order entry etc.)
  • Proactively drives account management while executing tasks to support the sales process and move opportunities forward.
  • Collaborates professionally with cross functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues.
  • Work to improve customer VMI program: add, change and delete items, and drive efficiency to improve service & profitability.
  • Follow company guidelines to establish selling prices and profit margins. Actively research profitability concerns.
  • Supports in preparing continuous improvement reviews for our customers.
  • Work with established reporting tools for inventory review and new item additions.
  • Manage customer portals for demand, quote requests, and corrective actions
  • Maintains and builds customer relationships to become a trusted consultative advisor
  • Read and decipher customer prints to provide accurate customer quotes
  • Recommend and identify internal process improvements.
  • Respond timely to requests via all modes of communication (IE: phone, fax, email or chat)
  • Up sell products and services through weekly sales or company promotions.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred. High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years customer service/inside sales or related experience is required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • SAP skills are advantageous.
  • Must be able to read and analyze customer purchase orders, drawings and vendor-supplied reference material.
  • Ability to analyze data to make decision and impacts for the customer.
  • Ability to supply customers with professional written, computer-generated or verbal quotations and recommendations.
  • Must be able to verbalize thoughts and information via phone and in person clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to establish credibility, respect and trust from internal colleagues and external customers.
  • Ability to keep employees motivated, create a team environment and resolve conflict.
  • Must occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 lbs.
