Job summary

Standard Process is seeking an Inside Sales Representative – Veterinary in the United States to drive sales in the veterinary market. You will engage licensed veterinarians, practice managers, and vet techs by phone and email, manage a high volume of inquiries, and convert leads into orders while maintaining accurate CRM records.

Responsibilities include meeting revenue goals, providing product information, and supporting field sales.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing preferred or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • Experience in inside sales, account management or customer support is required.
  • Experience in veterinary or animal health market is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales revenue and account contact goals for the territory.
  • Develop professional sales relationships with veterinarians, practice managers and vet techs by phone and email.
  • Manage large volumes of inbound/outbound calls and emails daily to support customers.
  • Process customer orders via phone/email and log activities in CRM.
  • Explain and demonstrate product features to meet customer needs and close sales.
  • Travel to regional/national tradeshows to represent Standard Process.

The Inside Sales Representative – Veterinary will provide product information to customers and utilize the company selling process to close the sale. This role will be responsible for developing new leads and communicating with current customers through needs analysis ensuring a smooth sales process. Goals will be achieved through reaching the required number of outbound calls, emails, and other designated touch points daily to engage with qualified leads, existing accounts, and new customers.Essential FunctionsMeet and exceed assigned sales revenue and account contact goals for the territoryDevelop professional sales relationships with licensed veterinarians, practice managers and vet techs via phone and emailManage large volume of inbound and outbound calls and emails daily to support customersProcess customer orders via phone/emailUtilize professional communication skills with external customers and internal departmentsUtilize product knowledge and sales skills to identify and meet customer needsKeep up with Standard Process product and service information and updatesExplain and demonstrate features of products and servicesConvert pre-qualified leads and generate new business with existing customersPromote excellence by providing superior service to customersHandle customer inquiries (product questions, costs, shipping/tracking, etc.) as they occurAssist field sales organization on sales related activities as neededMaintain a database of customers and leads; log and record all communication and opportunities in CRM toolOrganize and prioritize customer follow up callsLearn industry, product, market segments, and appropriate tools to grow customersPartner with Sales, Customer Service, Analytics, Marketing, and Finance as needed to advance the sales processUtilize analytics and market intelligence to make confident and strategic decisions to drive business growthTravel to regional or national tradeshows and conferences to represent Standard Process in the exhibitor boothQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing preferred, or equivalent work experience in related fieldCertifications/Licenses: Veterinary technician license a plusExperience:2+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or customer support5+ years of experience working in a veterinary clinic, or in the animal health market for either a manufacturer or distributorExperience with consultative phone sales, presenting product information, prospecting, and cold calling preferredExperience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plusSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenResults driven individual with strong desire to succeed, high energy, self-starterStrong commitment to customer service and product descriptive skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsAdaptable, professional, courteous, and motivatedKnowledge of commonly used terms in the animal health and pet industriesAbility to multitask and work in a fast and changing environmentMust work well individually and as a member of a teamWillingness to learn new skills and actively participate in professional developmentProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an ability to effectively use sales and marketing software & CRMStrong internet research skills requiredNecessary CompetenciesCommunication (verbal and written)Ethics/IntegrityCustomer FocusPersonal Accountability/ProfessionalismSelling SkillsResults Oriented/Drive for ResultsPerseverance/TenacityResilienceCompensationThe anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $27.24 to $39.50, with a midpoint of $33.37. This range is based on the cost of labor in Wisconsin and may change based on labor costs in other locations.
