Job summary

Penn Fencing, a full-service employee-owned fence company serving Western Pennsylvania, is seeking motivated individuals for a sales role in Butler, PA. We offer comprehensive training and opportunities to grow within the company.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, handling inquiries, supporting online transactions, and developing new sales opportunities with wholesale and contractor accounts. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year sales experience preferred but not required.
• Fencing, decking, railing or construction experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product information and price quotes.
• Answer questions, resolve concerns, and provide information via calls and emails.
• Support customers to complete website sale transactions.
• Assist outside residential sales with in-home consultations during peak times.
• Develop new sales opportunities via emails, cold calls, and appointments.
• Build relationships and drive business with wholesale and contractor accounts.
• Communicate customer needs to identify sales and upsell opportunities.
• Explain product functions and features to customers.
• Keep product and service information up to date and compare offers.
• Complete all paperwork relating to estimates and sales orders accurately.

Penn Fencing is a full-service employee-owned fence company in Western Pennsylvania offering careers in commercial, industrial, and residential fence installation. We currently are looking for motivated employees of all skill and experience levels. We maintain three locations: Butler, Seneca and Indiana PA. We have been providing solutions for our customers’ fencing needs for over 40 years. Our company follows these basic core principles:

Experience in the fence industry is not required; we offer comprehensive training. We are looking for quality people that want the opportunity to learn the fencing trade and grow within the company.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Assist customers that walk in or call in with product information and price quotes.
• Answering customers’ questions, resolving their concerns, and providing additional information via calls and emails
• Support customers to complete website sale transactions
• Assist outside residential sales with in-home consultations during times of high volume.
• Developing new sales opportunities using emails, cold calls, in person appointments and lead follow-ups
• Develop relationships and drive business with new and existing wholesale and contractor accounts.
• Communicating with customers to understand their needs and requirements and identify sales and upsell opportunities
• Explaining and demonstrating the functions and features of products and services
• Keep up to date with product and service information and competitor offers
• Accurately complete all paperwork relating to estimates and sales orders.
• Return customers’ calls and messages in a timely fashion

Desired Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year’s sales experience preferred but not required
• Fencing, decking, railing or construction experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize the duties required
• Strong proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and other basic computer programs and ability to learn fencing estimation software
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance
• Must be a strong communicator
• Required to pass a drug test and subject to random testing
• Ability to measure accurately with a measuring tape or wheel
