Job summary

Waste Management in Tupelo, MS is seeking an Inside Sales Manager to oversee the inside retention team. This full-time, office-based role requires daily in-person presence at 499 South Gloster, Ste B2, Tupelo, MS 38801.

The position leads the Inside Sales Department, mentors supervisors and account associates, and drives revenue through effective sales strategies and customer satisfaction. Local candidates prefered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Three years of relevant work experience in business-to-business sales management, plus three years in direct business-to-business sales.
  • 3-years proven success in a Level 4-6 sales position.
  • Management position with potential for sales compensation and recognition programs upon training prerequisites and management approval.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reinforce the corporate sales strategy and design with the Inside Sales Team.
  • Establish and maintain high customer satisfaction on all sales transactions.
  • Supervise activities of the Inside Sales Department and ensure goals are met.
  • Forecast and recruit qualified candidates for Inside Sales positions.
  • Develop ongoing coaching and training for Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Collaborate on area pricing and service strategies with Area departments.
  • Maintain accurate customer records for interactions and contracts.
  • Develop strategies to up-sell and cross-sell via outbound calls.

The Inside Sales Manager will manage our inside retention team. The position will be based in Tupelo, MS and will be a full-time office job. Prior management and/or supervisory experience will be preferred. Candidates should be local to the Tupelo area and ready to come into the office every day (100%). The office location for this position is: 499 South Gloster, Ste B2 – Tupelo, MS38801 and all candidates should be able to commute to this location.

I. Job Summary

Manages the activities of the inside retention team and several supervisors and provides an accomplished level of expertise in the sale of WM services, with inside sales tactics and strategies, to customers resulting in additional revenue. Develops and implements appropriate sales and marketing programs to meet current and future customer needs and provides guidance and direction to Inside Sales Team members.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains and reinforces the corporate sales strategy and design with the Inside Sales Team.
  • Establishes and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction on all sales transactions. Communicates to and works with the Area Sales Leadership Team to help resolve unique customer issues.
  • Supervises activities of the Inside Sales Department. Ensures team members meet or exceed goals for retaining existing business, generate new business, opportunity generation and account management.
  • Forecasts and recruits qualified candidates for available and/or upgraded Inside Sales Team positions.
  • Develops and executes ongoing coaching and training to all Inside Sales Representatives. Encourages feedback and is available to answer questions, provide direction and/or offer assistance when needed. Updates all Inside Sales Representative reference material as appropriate.
  • Assists in the communication and maintenance of the Area pricing and service strategies through collaboration with Area departments.
  • Sets up and maintains accurate customer records for all customer interactions. This includes prospect data, contracts, orders and service machine documentation.
  • Works with the Area Sales Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies to up sell and cross sell to customers via outbound calls.
  • Communicates goals to Inside Sales Representatives. Arrange for proper training, if necessary so Inside Sales Representatives may successfully meet expectations.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct supervision of 24 full-time employees, including: 2 Supervisors and 22 Account Associates
IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Three years of relevant work experience in business-to-business sales management, plus three years in direct business-to-business sales (in addition to education experience).
  • Internal requirements include 3-years proven success in a Level 4-6 sales position.
  • This is a management position. Placement into or advancement to this position is dependent upon individual performance, local market conditions and/or Market Area requirements. This position is eligible to participate in sales compensation and recognition programs upon successful completion of training prerequisites and Market Area management approval.
