Job summary

Integrated Cooling Solutions is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to join our HVAC equipment team in Florida. You will work with Sales Engineers to support projects from initial design and equipment selection through estimating, submittals, ordering, and delivery.

You will gain exposure to our product lines, learn commercial HVAC applications, and develop skills in technical sales, engineering coordination, and customer interactions under guided mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical or Industrial preferred).
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn HVAC concepts and applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; capable of learning other software.
  • Familiarity with CAD or HVAC design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support HVAC projects from design through order and delivery.
  • Review project documents to understand design intent and equipment requirements.
  • Assist with selecting HVAC equipment based on specifications and performance needs.
  • Support preparation of estimates, pricing, proposals, and design alternatives.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and internal teams on information and timelines.
  • Prepare technical submittals, product data, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project files and communication with customers and team members.
  • Handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and communicating progress.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Inside Sales Engineer Intern to join our HVAC equipment team for Summer 2027.

You'll work alongside Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support projects from initial design and equipment selection through estimating, proposals, submittals, ordering, and delivery. You'll gain exposure to our manufacturers and product lines, build an understanding of commercial HVAC applications, and see how technical solutions are developed around each customer's project needs.

This hands‑on internship combines engineering, project coordination, customer interaction, and sales support. You'll receive feedback from experienced team members while building skills for a future career in HVAC sales engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Inside and Outside Sales Engineers to support commercial HVAC projects from initial design and estimating through order, delivery, and project completion.
  • Review mechanical plans, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to understand design intent and equipment requirements.
  • Assist with selecting and applying HVAC equipment based on project specifications, performance requirements, customer needs, and manufacturer capabilities.
  • Support the preparation of equipment estimates, pricing, quotations, proposals, design alternatives, and value‑engineering options.
  • Coordinate equipment information, pricing, availability, lead times, and technical requirements with manufacturers and internal teams.
  • Prepare and organize technical submittals, product data, IOM documentation, and other project materials.
  • Organize and verify project information for order entry and equipment release.
  • Track project schedules, equipment lead times, ship dates, open questions, and assigned follow‑up items.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, consulting engineers, manufacturers, and internal team members under the guidance of the sales team.
  • Create and maintain accurate job files, project records, and customer information within company systems.
  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting deadlines and keeping the project team informed of progress or concerns.
  • Help investigate technical or project concerns, identify possible solutions, and support the team through resolution.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations, and project discussions as needed.
  • Continue building knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, applications,ICS product lines, manufacturers, and industry practices.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • Ideally entering junior or senior year by Summer 2027.
  • Interest in commercial HVAC, building systems, technical sales, estimating, engineering, construction, or project management.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability and interest to learn HVAC equipment, systems, and applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, or other technical documentation is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑focused and team‑oriented approach.
  • Curious, dependable, and comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and taking ownership of assigned work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to learn other business and technical software.
  • Familiarity with CAD, HVAC selection software, MEP design, mechanical contracting, or commercial construction is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role is performed primarily in an office environment with periodic time in the field or at customer and project locations. The intern will regularly use a computer and telephone and will frequently sit, stand, and walk. The role may occasionally require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
