Job summary

The Inside Sales Consultant at Cengage is a strategic sales professional responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive customer engagement, consultative selling, and account management. This role manages defined territories, uncovers new opportunities, and strengthens relationships across the full sales lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in sales or related roles, strong communication, CRM experience (Salesforce), and a data-driven approach.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets across assigned accounts or territories.

  • Grow existing customer relationships, ensuring high levels of happiness, retention, and expansion.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person sales presentations, product demonstrations, and solution consultations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, customer success, implementation, and product specialists to support customer needs and drive adoption.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems, including customer interactions, pipeline status, and forecasting.
  • Analyze customer data and market trends to inform sales strategies and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Participate in conferences, and virtual events to promote products and build relationships.
  • Provide post-sale support and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation.
  • Stay current on product offerings, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

The Inside Sales Consultant is a strategic sales professional responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive customer engagement, consultative selling, and account management. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets across assigned accounts or territories.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through proactive outreach and consultative engagement.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.

In this position, you will be eligible to participate in the company's variable Sales incentive compensation program.$19.00 - $25.00 USD0

Target Variable Compensation:45,000.00 USD Annual: Individual Target
