DSG Supply in Mankato, MN is seeking a Plumbing & HVAC Inside Sales Associate to write orders, take calls, prepare project bids, and provide overall customer service. We are an ESOP-owned company that values teamwork, respect and growth, offering strong training and plenty of opportunities to advance with vendors and customers alike.

A typical day includes facilitating orders, handling inquiries, generating quotes, offering technical support, and helping manage inventory and product knowledge

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of college or technical school, or 3–5 years field experience in Plumbing & HVAC.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills across settings (in-person, phone, email).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Active listening to determine customer needs and maintain relationships.
• Strong problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with computers — ERP systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary facilitator for customer orders.
• Assist customers with product inquiries professionally.
• Write and, when needed, fill orders accurately and promptly.
• Generate customer quotations and follow up on quotes.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support.
• Collaborate with the sales team to resolve customer issues promptly.
• Restock the counter area by product brand and location.
• Monitor inventory and identify damaged items.
• Maintain a clean counter display area.
• Promote additional products as appropriate.
• Pursue ongoing product education through various sources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

DSG is seeking a Plumbing & HVAC Inside Sales Associate in our Mankato, MN location. Hours range between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm , Monday through Friday. As an Inside Sales Associate, you will be responsible for writing orders, taking calls, preparing project bids, and providing overall customer service.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Plumbing & HVAC Inside Sales Associate at DSG:

• Serve as a primary facilitator for customer orders
• Assist customers in a professional manner with product inquiries
• Write (and occasionally assist to fill) orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Generate customer quotations and follow up on quotes requested
• Provide trouble-shooting and technical support
• Work with other sales team members to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner
• Restock the counter area according to product brand and location
• Monitor product inventory and cull damaged product
• Maintain a clean and appealing counter display area
• Identify and encourage the sale of additional products as applicable
• Continue education on latest updates to products through manufacturer schools, trade shows, tech schools, vendor meetings, trainings, trade journals, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned

A Successful Plumbing & HVAC Inside Sales Associate Typically Has:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school OR 3-5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of Plumbing & HVAC products.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills across a variety of settings (in-person, phone, and email).
• Strong attention to detail, paired with the ability to multi-task.
• A knack for active listening to determine customer needs and maintain strong relationships.
• Superior problem solving, project management, and analytical skills.
• A high proficiency with computers – experience in Eclipse or other ERP systems preferred.
• The ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
• The physical ability to frequently lift & load items weighing up to 60lbs.
