Job Description:Business Development - Inside Sales Associate
This client-facing role is focused on driving SBR’s business development, sales and market growth strategies through research, analysis, outreach and supporting the commercial strategy/initiatives. Working with proactive sales activities to assist in identifying and securing business opportunities with both new leads and existing accounts, this position will methodically identify and build relationships with key influencers and decision makers within targeted segments of the clinical sponsor and CRO environments. This role will work across the business development and clinical/site operations teams to understand the key strengths and differentiators of the SBR model and the specific sites and patient communities in its network and how to best position and communicate that to different stakeholders in the research ecosystem. The person in this role will work with other internal commercial team members to ensure the messaging and supporting content effectively enable the outreach campaigns and will take part in conferences and business meetings to further establish and build relationships.
The person in this role will have an opportunity to continuously build knowledge and experience throughout the sales cycle – study lead generation and tracking; feasibility/site selection, and where needed, RFI / RFP activity; bid submission; and bid defense support.
The position will report administratively to the Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships yet will have direct work with both the business development and operations teams, and other parts of the business.
The position is a full-time remote position in the US, with the opportunity to work across other related business units and entities that can span clinical research sites, CROs and FSP related businesses.
Responsibilities:
The role will include but not be limited to learning about and performing tasks as needed in the following areas:
oConduct market research, with an aim to identify new opportunities and understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D pipelines.
oDevelop detailed understanding of our operations including capabilities, capacity, and timelines.
oDevelop/formulate growth strategies to boost sales and customer engagement.
oIdentify and research potential leads or prospects, and track throughout the sales cycle.
oDevelop and deliver sales presentations and lead account planning and development meetings.
oWork on marketing efforts to promote SBR via different mediums and channels.
oFollow up on leads generated from business intelligence sources and marketing campaigns.
oAttend and contribute in planning/tracking meetings, e.g. Pipeline Reviews, Conference Planning, etc.
oSupport senior members of the team with various other activities.
oProvide other operational and administrative support, which may include effectively utilizing Microsoft Office products, scheduling meetings, generating reports, coordinating events, etc.
Qualifications/Required Experience:
·Bachelor or Masters-Level degree in business management & administration, sales, marketing, economics, finance, data analytics or related healthcare discipline
·Must have 2-5 years of commercial or inside sales experience or account management at a clinical research site/network, CRO, or other parts of the pharmaceutical services industry
·Must be analytical, methodical, and have a good understanding of spreadsheets, and financial and other data analysis.
·Must be able to review, prepare, and proofread documents, while adhering to strict confidentiality requirements
·Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, follow-through, and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work under deadlines, detail-oriented and meticulous in all aspects of work.
·Ability to build, develop, maintain and expand professional relationships with key stakeholders and across different organizations
·Must be flexible, adaptable and ready to quickly learn new tools, software and approaches.
·Superior organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and provide a high level of responsiveness and timely service on a day-to-day basis as well as balancing the unexpected needs of the company and clients as they arise.
·Capable of working independently after given clear instructions and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
·Ability to consistently meet/exceed defined commercial goals
·Understanding of medical terminology, with the ability to research/seek knowledge and ask questions and raise concerns when needed.
·Ability to accept and quickly apply coaching and feedback to improve individual performance and customer experience
·Ability to lift approximately 20 pounds for a short period and capable of standing for extended periods of time.
·Ability to travel up to ~25% of the time
·Skilled with standard computer programs including the MS Office suite
· Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
