Pay: $21.00–$23.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to assist customers with product selection, sales orders, quotes, invoices, returns, payments, and deliveries. This position communicates with customers in person, over the phone, and by email while providing professional and solution-focused service.

The Counter Sales Representative will work with products such as pipes, pumps, valves, fittings, geotextiles, geogrids, erosion-control materials, and drainage products. The ideal candidate will have previous inside-sales or customer-service experience and be comfortable learning technical products and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person, over the phone, and by email
• Answer product questions and recommend appropriate solutions
• Prepare quotes, sales orders, invoices, returns, and payments
• Follow up on open quotes, customer inquiries, and pending orders
• Coordinate customer orders and deliveries
• Enter and maintain accurate customer and order information
• Learn the company’s products, procedures, and applications
• Stock merchandise and maintain organized store shelves
• Assist with merchandising and inventory-related duties
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional store environment
• Work with other team members to resolve customer concerns
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• One to three years of inside-sales or customer-service experience
• Experience in construction, industrial sales, plumbing, distribution, or a related industry is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally in English
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience with Sage ERP or another computer-based ordering system is helpful
• Mechanical or technical aptitude is preferred
• Ability to learn technical products and their applications
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to maintain accuracy when preparing documents and entering information
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
