Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for fluming and sizing of raw product. The Receiving Operator Area Owner operates and adjusts all inside receiving equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors product sizing, lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs and makes line changes as directed by the Production Lead or Team Leader. This position is responsible for evaluating work processes to determine strategies and programs which provide greater productivity and efficiency of company functions by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for proper handling of raw product throughout the receiving area.
  • Inventory volumes of raw product.
  • Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain even line flow.
  • Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.
  • Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems.
  • Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures.
  • Works independently.
  • Shovels product spills.
  • Completes production forms as required.
  • Enters information into the computer and utilizes process control equipment to control product flow.
  • Monitors in‑line magnets.
  • Perform required magnet checks on receiving equipment after truck unloading.
  • Maintains water quality by cleaning strainers.
  • Sanitations of area; May be required to move totes using forklift.
  • Breaking of Outside Receiving Operator, or other positions as directed.
  • Performs weekend cleanup as assigned.
  • May be required to use a 2 way radio.
  • Uses a computer touch screen to monitor and control equipment.
  • Wears required PPE.
  • Actively participate in AMD activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Position Requirements: Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred) High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Lock-out/Tag‑out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.

Skills and Experience: Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility. Ability to perform basic math functions, required. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Environment/Demands

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures. Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment. Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis.
