Job summary

Ellwood Quality Steels Co in New Castle, PA is seeking a results-driven Sales professional to meet customer sales/service needs, respond to inquiries, and drive opportunities. The role reports to the Director of Sales and offers a pathway in a family-owned, growth-focused steel producer.

You will price materials, collaborate with Operations and Accounting, and occasionally visit customers to strengthen relationships and close deals. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates/Bachelors preferred with a strong background in industrial sales or customer service.
• Prior industrial sales, marketing and quoting experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Responds to customer inquiries and requests for information, service and status including possible recommendations of material grades or specifications.
• Interacts with customers; submits non-conforming material (NCM) to customer and handles customer complaints.
• Calculates pricing for different grades of steel within set parameters and has authority to adjust pricing as needed.
• Works with Operations and Production Planner to meet customers’ sales/service needs and to seize selling opportunities.
• Determines and implements transportation modes for customers and can change transportation mode as needed.
• Collaborates with Accounting to address customer credit issues.
• Occasional sales visits to customers for sales calls as needed; provides department backup.
• Adheres to all company policies and safety regulations; maintains attendance and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

• Make occasional sales visits to customers for sales calls, as needed.
• Provide backup to the department, as needed.i
• Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
• Must have ability and desire to work well with others.
• Meets attendance requirements.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or G.E.D required. Post-secondary education (Associates, Bachelors Degree) preferred with a strong background in industrial sales or customer service.
• Prior Industrial sales, marketing and quoting experience preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Good computer skills with proficiency - Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) preferred.
• Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization
• Strong work ethic
• Driving is a function of this position but not a requirement in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Program. Driver's license will be monitored for valid and active status.
