Job summary

Opti Staffing is seeking an Inside Maintenance Technician for full-time, year-round work in Anchorage. You will maintain interior building systems, handle repairs, and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tasks to support tenant needs.

The role requires reading technical drawings, using hand and power tools, and the ability to escalate issues to licensed trades as needed. OSHA training and strong communication are helpful.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with HVAC and/or plumbing systems is preferred.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and building drawings.
• Capable of troubleshooting building systems and escalating when needed.
• Willingness to attend OSHA and equipment-specific training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete interior work orders (repairs, fixture issues, general upkeep)
• Perform basic HVAC tasks: filter changes, belt checks, thermostat troubleshooting, minor repairs
• Perform basic plumbing tasks: clearing clogged drains, fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, toilet/faucet repair
• Perform basic electrical tasks: replacing light fixtures, ballasts, outlets, switches (within scope, no licensed electrical work)
• Install and repair interior fixtures, hardware, and building components
• Inspect and troubleshoot building systems and report issues that need a licensed trade contractor
• Check functionality of safety systems (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, alarms)
• Operate hand and power tools for interior repairs
• Assist with interior renovations and coordinate with outside contractors as needed
• Removal/installation of furniture, fixtures, and heavy items from suites (prescheduled)
• Install and take down interior holiday decorations/displays (prescheduled)
• Maneuver common-area furniture (benches, tables, chairs) as needed
• Report to facilities/maintenance contact on all issues and completed work
• Assist other departments with various tasks as needed

Maintenance Technician (Inside) — Full-Time, Year-Round

We are looking for a full-time, year-round Inside Maintenance Technician to handle interior building upkeep, repairs, and system troubleshooting. You will be responsible for keeping building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) running properly and addressing tenant/facility work orders as they come in. The ideal candidate has hands-on HVAC and/or plumbing experience, is reliable, and has a keen eye for detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00–$35.00/hr, depending on experience
