Job summary

Impact Connects is seeking an Inserter Operator II for the Lettershop Production team. The role runs 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, focusing on setting up and operating inserting equipment to ensure accurate and efficient production.

You will lead the machine's workers on your shift, adhere to SOPs, read job tickets, and maintain quality while keeping work areas clean. Prior inserting experience (2–3 years) and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of progressive inserting experience.
• Ability to read and write basic English.
• Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand job instructions in the form of work tickets.
• Know, follow and teach SOPs; operate inserting equipment safely.
• Be responsible for quality and quantity of each assigned job.
• Act as lead for machine's assigned workers; report issues to supervisor.
• Set up inserters efficiently and correctly.
• Sort and containerize all classes of mail; read forms and paperwork.
• Keep production areas clean at all times.
• Rotate to other positions on the machine to train others.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Performance Measurement

Performance feedback will take place both verbally and written on a day-to-day as needed basis, recognition in monthly employee recognition meetings, formal training on changes in SOP as needed with a formal review by the supervisor at least annually

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; 2-3 years of progressive Inserting experience.

Language And Math Skills

Ability to read and write at a basic English level. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees at a level necessary for the position. Ability to add & subtract two digit numbers and to multiply & divide with 10s & 100s.

Physical Demands

Standing or walking most of the day, may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, often lift up to 40 lbs and rarely up to 70 lbs. Constant use of hands and arms. Regularly reach with hands and arms, including reaching above shoulder level (Lifting/reaching above shoulder level would seldom be more than 5-10 pounds). Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, & ability to focus.

Work Environment

Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes & air borne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to toxic chemicals. The noise level is moderate to loud.
