Job summary

The Tutorverse, LLC is seeking an experienced Academic Support Expert to tutor students in grades 3–7 in ELA and math, primarily in Manhattan, NYC. You will deliver engaging instruction both in-person and via Zoom as needed to accommodate families.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of teaching experience, with bonus points for SHSAT/HSPT/TACHS test prep. Flexible scheduling and ongoing client support are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting grades 3–7 in ELA and math.
• Experience with NY state tests (SHSAT/HSPT/TACHS) a bonus.
• Willingness to travel to NYC/Manhattan for in-person sessions.
• Proficient with Zoom for remote lessons.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and test-prep tutoring for grades 3–7.
• Deliver lessons in-person in Manhattan; coordinate with families.
• Adapt content to individual student needs and goals.

The Tutorverse is hiring an experienced educator for grade 3-7 academic support and test prep in the NYC area to help our students achieve!

Requirements

• Academic Support Experience: Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in helping support grade 3-7 students in both ELA and math (science and/or history are a bonus).
• Test Prep Experience: Applicants must have experience in helping grade 3-7 students prepare for both ELA and math NY state tests (SHSAT, HSPT/TACHS, Hunter HS, or other entrance exams are a huge bonus and pay a higher rate).
• Location: Applicants must be available to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, primarily in Manhattan.
• Tech fluency: Since many in-person families are occasionally unable to meet in person, we will be asking you to deliver lessons via Zoom as you might with a real tutoring client - think of this like role playing with your interviewer being a student.

• Experienced and has a Bachelor's Degree: We make a promise to our families that our instructors are truly experts in their respective fields, so we ask that you have a bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, as well as three years of post-collegiate grade 3-7 teaching experience.
